Fine Motor Hour for All!
Ages 4-6
Do you have a child who is Preschool or Kindergarten-aged? With the amount of writing done in Kindergarten today, it is necessary for your child to enter school with strong fine motor skills so that written expression is not delayed.
In addition to in-person tutoring, we are now offering an online option for tutoring! Currently, children are benefiting from online tutoring with Learning Tower! Learning Tower Tutors are skilled at offering instruction through online tutoring sessions, as well as in -person, for children in Preschool – Grade 9 in all subject areas during the school year as well as over the summer break. Sessions can be scheduled for 30 or 60 minute time slots. We look forward to welcoming your family to our online classroom!
Small Group Tutoring: Writing and Text Dependent Analysis (TDA): Grades 3-8

As Kindergarten continues to become more academic, there is much focus on the importance of quality Preschool Education prior to a child’s entrance to Kindergarten in order to provide a foundation of a love for learning, academic skills and knowledge, as well as social/emotional skills.
Though Preschool Tutoring is offered on an individual basis as well as for pairs and small groups, since Preschool-aged students are still developing their social and cognitive skills, there are many benefits to tutoring in pairs and especially in small groups such as:
In addition to Preschool Tutoring for children ages 3-6 during the school year and summer, School Readiness Tutoring is available to children during the summer prior to their start to Kindergarten, whether they are enrolled in Kindergarten outside of the home or are planning to be home-schooled for Kindergarten.

Learning Tower provides tutoring services for students in grades K-6 in all academic subject areas including Reading (English Language Arts) and Math, as well as in Handwriting, Fine Motor Skills, Vision Tracking, and the Orton-Gillingham Approach to teaching Reading for those diagnosed with Dyslexia.
Learning Tower offers Math tutoring to students in grades K-12! Mathematics skills build upon one another. When considering a student’s area of struggle in math, tutors will assess students to determine the place where their understanding began to breakdown. It is at that place that the individual remediation plan will begin.
Reading is a complex process, and so it must be systematically taught in the areas of: Phonemic Awareness, Phonics, Sight Words, High Frequency and Sight Words, Vocabulary, Syntax, Fluency, Reading Comprehension including Metacognitive Strategies, as well as Written Expression and TDA (text dependent analysis).
Fine Motor Skills are required for writing, cutting, coloring, and manipulation of objects in the hand. Learning Tower utilizes “The Fine Motor Olympics” curriculum plus other supplemental activities to remediate Fine Motor Skills.
Students who suffer from insufficient Visual Discrimination Skills will struggle with reading fluency and speed, and therefore, reading comprehension as well. Those with insufficient Visual Discrimination Skills will often exhibit the following symptoms when reading:
Students who struggle with some kind of Visual Stress will often have much trouble with fluency. Visual stress can impair reading and can make long periods of exposure to text uncomfortable. Visual Stress reveals itself in the following symptoms:
