Small Group Tutoring: Writing and Text Dependent Analysis (TDA): Grades 3-8
During weekly group sessions, students will be instructed by the teacher, as well as work with the teacher and each other to:
- Analyze the text read, both orally and in written form.
- Determine what the subsequent TDA question is asking about the text. (Many errors are made on standardized assessments due to students not understanding what a question is asking and/or skipping portions of a multi-part question.)
- Memorize an acronym, commonly used by area school districts, to learn a format for writing TDA’s that meet standardized test expectations.
- Learn how to determine what evidence from the text is the appropriate to include in a TDA written response.
